“Per Education Code section 5019.5, with every 10-year census, each school district must evaluate the total population variances between its trustee areas.  Per caselaw and industry practice, if the maximum population variance between any two trustee areas is over 10%, the school district must make adjustments to trustee area boundaries to bring the maximum population variance between any two trustee areas to 10% or less.  The District’s demographer determined that the District’s maximum population variance is 12.3%, which requires trustee area boundary adjustments.  Proposed trustee area boundary adjustment maps will be provided here as they become available, and the public is encouraged to submit comments for the demographer and Board’s consideration.  The District must approve a boundary adjustment map by February 28, 2022.  The schedule for public hearings and Board meetings where adjustment maps will be considered is shown below.”
